Campers’ clothes are cleaned at a commercial laundry—no need to worry about the mess!

• 1-week campers: Please pack enough clothes for the full week, as laundry is not done.
  
• 2-week campers: Laundry is done once, halfway through the session.
  
• 4-week campers: Laundry is done three times during the session.
  

Important: Please label all clothing with name tags to prevent mix-ups. Laundry service is included in the camp fee.

Note: We cannot accommodate hand-washed items, so please leave delicate or special-care clothing at home.

Arrival & Departure
To keep arrivals and departures smooth for everyone, please follow the times below.

By Bus (Toronto → Onondaga Camp)

• Departure for Camp: 2:00 PM sharp from 36 Curity Avenue, East York, ON M4B 0A2. Look for Onondaga staff in red polos. Please arrive by 1:30 PM.
• Return to Toronto: Between 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM on departure days.

By Car

• Drop-off: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM on arrival days.
• Pick-up: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM on departure days.

Following these times helps us keep check-in and check-out organized, safe, and stress-free for all campers and families.

One- & Two-Week Campers:
To help campers settle into camp life, visits are not permitted during short sessions. Sticking to the routine helps your child enjoy the full camp experience.

Four-Week Campers:
One visit per camper/LIT. While we don’t have a formal visitor’s day or special programs for parents, you’re invited to stop by.

• Visiting Hours: 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM
• Return to Activities: Campers should be back by 2:40 PM

Please call ahead to confirm your camper will be in camp during your visit.

Cell Phones:

• Campers are not permitted to bring cell phones.
• Being away from home helps campers build independence, strengthen friendships, and fully enjoy the camp experience.

Parent Updates:

• Parents of first-time campers will receive a call from their camper’s Section Head within the first couple of days.
• Parents of returning campers will receive a call within the first week.
  These calls give a quick update on how your child is settling in.

Camp Phone:

• Campers cannot make or receive personal calls except in emergencies.
• For questions, parents can call (705) 286-1030 during business hours. If needed, a Section Head can return your call within 24 hours.

Canoe trips are a long-standing tradition at Onondaga Camp and a highlight of the summer. While trips are optional, we strongly encourage campers to join—they’re a chance to explore Ontario’s great outdoors, bond with friends, and enjoy the guidance of our experienced staff.

Trip Lengths by Age:

• Bantams (11–12): 3-day trip
• Inters (13), Seniors (14), Super Seniors (15): 4-day trip
• Senior & Super Senior month campers: Optional 7-day trip

Staff & Group Size:

• Each trip is led by a trained canoe trip leader and accompanied by a camp counsellor.
• Most trips include up to 7 campers, ensuring safety, fun, and personal attention.

Canoe trips are more than an adventure—they’re a chance to grow, challenge yourself, and make memories that last a lifetime.

Sending Mail:
Campers love hearing from home! The fastest way to reach them is through our email system, where messages are printed and delivered at regular mail time. You can access it here.

For traditional mail, please note that rural delivery can be slow. We recommend sending letters at least a week in advance. Bus campers can hand letters to staff on the bus, or letters can be dropped off at the camp office upon arrival.

Care Packages:
Care packages are welcome, but no food items due to allergies. One care package per camper, per session please (as per Handbook). Safe alternatives include:

• Games or toys
• Clothing or small supplies

All packages are opened in the camp office. Any food items will be removed.
